Paris, France

Château Voltaire

Located in the 1st Arrondissement, just steps from the Tuileries and the Opéra Garnier, Château Voltaire is the brainchild of Thierry Gillier (founder of Zadig & Voltaire). Set across three historic buildings, it shuns the typical "glitter" of five-star palaces in favor of a moody, cinematic aesthetic. Designed by Festen Architecture, the hotel feels like a private residence from a forgotten era—low-lit, textured, and deeply Parisian.

Hotel Guide

The Vibe

  • Low-key luxury for the fashion and creative set. It’s moody, soundproofed, and intentionally "under-designed" to feel authentic..

The Room to Book

  • The Voltaire Suite on the top floor. It’s a literal rooftop "castle" with a private terrace landscaped by Louis Benech, offering a secret garden view over the zinc roofs of Paris.

Wellness & Spa

  • The subterranean spa, which can be booked for private use, featuring a stone plunge pool and sauna that feels like a hidden Roman bath.

Wine & Dine

  • Brasserie L’Émil: The hotel's ground-floor restaurant. It’s a chic, wood-paneled space serving Mediterranean-inflected classics like scampi with fleur de sel and rigatoni with morels.

Dresscode

  • Understated Parisian Cool.

Budget

  • Rates start at EUR 590 per night.
